The Beetle House
Welcome AOL readers. A few people have asked about more information about this house and whilst I don't know anything more than what I have found on the Net, I can tell you that according to this article the house is 14m long and 10m high and has 300 sq/m of floor space.
The Volkswagen Camper has always been a popular mobile home, but now the tables have been turned - with a house constructed in the shape of a VW Beetle!
Designed by architect Markus Voglreiter, and constructed in Salzburg, Austria, the open-plan home is packed with technology to make it energy efficient. But while the original Beetle brought cheap motoring to the masses, the VW house doesn't follow the same ethos - the rent is 2,500 Euros (£1,680) per month.

You'd have to be starved for attention and strive to be unusual to pay so much for the privledge of residing in a car.

I think it is real neat! I would live in it. People pay a lot more rent for regular houses, what's wrong with something a little more unique.

Why does this article not have the square footage or pictures of the inside? That would be a cool edition to it. If anyone knows this information add it to the comments please!!

I think it's a neat house! It's hard for me to judge it's actual size. I don't see a person or door, for reference. I'd like to have a HOTROD house. Please have the architect Markus Voglreiter, contact me about building my house.

Looks like a cute little toy for my six year old to play in out in the backyard.

If a person enlarges the picture THEN one can get an idea of the actual size of this BIG HOUSE.....{CLUE}...LQQK at the stairwells INSIDE.

I think people have more money than sense !

It would be nice to know what the floor plan entails. Is it a one room home or does it have serveral rooms (3 bedrooms and 2 baths). Of course it looks to small for all that but I'd be interested to know more.

It looks like at least a 3 story house. If you click on the picture, it enlarges it. There are 3 front doors in the center down between the tires and then the staircase going upstairs. The picture makes it look like a tiny car.

I don't mean to be rude or anything, the house is quite cool actually, but i just don't see how it is ment to be like a beetle?

Dim wits! Can't you see the houses in the background? What more comparison do you want, or must you always be spoonfed?
The concept is silly. A lot of the comments here sillier, but it would sure get the entire neighbourhood talking about the new family in the beetle!

What is the faint AUTO EXPRESS across the side near the 'headlights and front wheel'?Looks to me like a cartoon drawing made up to look like a house. Set in a picture just to make it look like a house. Has anyone really seen the beetle house. Should be some neighbors posting about it.

Love this house. It is pretty big. Looks like it is about 2 to 3 floors. I would love to live here for a couple of months. Probably have a blast.

I thin this house is just actually amazing. It does not have 3,000 square feet as was posted, it has 300 square feel. Either way, it would be just perfect for a couple or one person.

Here is the site with photos and more information. There are also people outside in the video to show perspective. The house is an addition to another home. It was built so parents and children could have separate living quarters.
