The Mick Jagger Of The Sea
This is not a Photoshopped image, the fish actually looks like it is wearing lipstick. The rosy lipped batfish can be found near Cocos Island off the coast of Costa Rica (their relatives, the red lipped batfish, can be found near the Galapagos Islands). It is not known why the fish has such brightly coloured lips as they live in the murky depths of the sea (around 125ft) where colours can't be detected without an artificial light source. LOL!! I just woke up...don't usually wake up 8:00 on weekends...and the first thing I saw was this weird looking critter. Cracked me up :P It's really cute!
