Flesh-Eating Disease
I can remember seeing reading about this man in FHM a few years ago. Apparently he caught the flesh-eating disease, necrotising fasciitis whilst out in his garden. Doctor's gave him the option of having his nose and eyes removed or dying. A tough call. He was given a prosthesis which did make him look relatively normal. [via]

THIS IS THE GUY WHO WAS BIT BY THE BROWN SPIDER , AND IT IS HOW HE GOT THE FLESH EATING DISEASE , AND HE THOUGHT HE HAD A COLD THAT WOULD NOT GO AWAY . SO HE WENT TO THE DOCTOR AT THE HOSPITAL AND THEN PASSED OUT OR SOMETHING . AND WHEN HE WOKE UP HE COULD NOT SEE . WITCH IS BECAUSE THEY DID SURGERY ON HIM AFTER HE PASSED OUT , AND DID NOT GIVE HIM THE OPTION OF HAVING HIS EYES AND NOSE REMOVED . THEY JUST JUMPED RIGHT INTO IT BECAUSE THEY SAID HE WAS DYING AND IF HE HAD NOT HAD IT DONE HE WOULD OF DIED.. NOW AFTER HE HAD THE SURGERY DONE , HE ALSO HAVES EYES AND A NOSE DONE BY PLASTIC. THIS WAS ALL ON RIPLEY'S BELIEVE IT OR NOT

Right now I am studying the civil war and disease in the civil war. I heard about this flesh eating disease and wanted to see some pictures of it. I cant believe that this is really what it looks like! This man is really tough to be going through this!(Especially having to breath through his mouth all day)

Yes, I was thinking exactly the same thing.
The guy can't read, so it seems quite pointless trying to reply to him. Unless of course some one reads this out to him.
Anyway, reading about this stuff makes me feel quite vulnerable. Any weird disease could infect any one of us. It makes me wonder what's going to happen to my fellow students at my school in the future.
I mean, chances are, at least one of them will have something weird like this happen to them. Perhaps not as extreme as this, but still, it makes me wonder.
I hope it's not me :(
