Outrage Over Spazz Wheelchair
Mirror: Outrage At 'Spazz' Chair Tag
Campaigners for the disabled are outraged over a new wheelchair called the Spazz.
In a marketing blunder, the US makers did not appear to realise how offensive the outdated term for "spastic" is in Britain.
It even has the word "Spazz" splashed across the frame of the product.
A spokesman for the manufacturers, Colours, in California said: "Here spazz is not offensive. It means wild and crazy."

That's absolute hogwash! As a native born Californian, I assure you that "spazz" is an epithet for "spastic" here, as well. "Wild and crazy" is in no way impled in phrases such as "don't be a spazz, dude" and "I totally spazzed out".
