Three ambulances had to be called to a cinema in Stevenage, Herts after a spate of people collapsing whilst watching Saw 3.
One woman was taken to hospital and two other adults were treated at the cinema by medics. And in a separate case, a man collapsed at a cinema in Peterborough, Cambs, "due to the film's content". All incidents took place took place last Friday on the opening night of the film.
I didn't see anyone collapsing at the cinema I went to yesterday but there seemed to be a larger number of people going to the toilet. Maybe they wanted to avoid the extremely graphic killings that the Saw series has become reknowed for.
Ogrish is no more. At least it's no longer available as it once was. Ogrish has now become LiveLeak. An announcement on the Ogrish forum said that the new site will focus on user-generated content (a lá YouTube) but would still retain the same content that use to feature on the old Ogrish.
Will Ogrish content remain a part of the new site? Will it be consumed be LiveLeak in favour of the more entertaining videos found on the dozens of other video sites? Is the purpose of the change to cash in like YouTube did? Whilst I wasn't a regular visitor of Ogrish I think this is a bad move.
It doesn't come any weirder, or sicker, than this.
I bet he'll have a great time in prison. I would show you what happens to rapists in Venezuelan prisons but it's too graphic. If you ever saw the Iraqi beheading videos you'll get an idea of what happened.
This poor guy gets the first question wrong on Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The presenter could have given him a second chance, he knew he had made a mistake. And now, not only was he humiliated on US TV, he's being humiliated on YouTube.
An Afghani governor has created plans for a £5.3m hotel development overlooking the Tora Bora caves where Osama Bin Laden once hid. He intends to build restaurants and pave the dirt road leading to the mountains from Jalalabad, a bone-jarring three-hour drive.
A shocking Halloween display is creating some extreme reactions in one Los Angeles-area neighborhood. The display features a fake plane crash so realistic even the police were fooled. The homeowner is an aircraft mechanic in training and the parts are from a real Gulfstream jet. Click for video and another pic. [via]
If any of you are wondering what Borat was like, it was hilarious. I'm awful at movie reviews so I'll just say that I, along with everyone else in the cinema, were in tears throughout the entire movie. If you aren't a fan of Sacha Baron Cohen then you'll probably not enjoy the movie but it should appeal to everyone else.
If you want a taster of what the movie is like, AintItCoolNews.com has the first four minutes of the film along with 4 deleted scenes.
Guinness has revealed plans to launch a new red version of its famous drink. The drink will be made from lightly roasted barley and will go on trial at pubs in the UK over the next few months. Guinness Red is the first major new launch since Extra Cold was introduced in pubs in 1999. The strength of the new drink will be comparable with the standard beer, around 4.1 per cent. [via]
A list of the oldest family-run companies in the world. Of the companies listed all are at least 225 years old; four have lasted in the same family for more than a millennium. The oldest company is actually not Kongo Gumi, it is Hoshi Ryokan (also the world's oldest hotel and founded in 717, not 718). Kongo Gumi sadly went into liquidation in January 2006.
"A lighning storm illuminated clouds in such a way as to make it look almost like a volcanic eruption. Moonlight helped capture the motion of the clouds during the time exposure to accentuate the look, Monument Peak, Payson, Arizona."
The photo is from Zullo Photography and they have lots more gorgeous photos here.
These cops thought it would be best to try and prevent bloodshed and not shot this knife-wielding psychopath. Unfortunately for them, a few of them got sliced up by the nutter's 10-inch knife. They then decided to shoot him. [via]
