2006 Geography Cup
A new website has been set up that aims to see who is better at geography - the US or the UK. So far the UK is in the lead. I tried registering but for some reason the site thinks that I am not in the UK. Yahoo! has more about the contest.

when i try to register it tells me i live out side the us and uk hmm someone dosnt want me to take part in this.

Sorry, we don't offer this challenge outside of the US and the UK, as yet. Please check back in the future for any changes to this policy.
We apologize for any inconvenience.
???? I must have been kidnapped, brought to Portugal, and brainwashed. No wonder no one listens to me! They speak Portugese!

It seems that this "geography cup" has a bit of a problem with geography itself, as I from America, cannot get on, and I guarantee my IP is in the states.

.... well you can see why the UK is ahead in the points. Obviously the plot is keep UK entrants out until the US build up a healthy lead (c:

It is a shame that the few intelligent Americans, myself included, are stereotyped along with every stupid American who thinks New York City is in Pennsylvania. I guess all I can do is put my national geography bee knowledge to work. And yes, I am a kid.

I had same problem- it didn't realise Inverness was in UK. But i emailed the organisers and eventually they sorted it out and now I'm playing and gaining points for team UK.
