Cool Google Mashup

Someone has made a very cool Google mashup involving a classic car video. The video shows an F1 driver driving at top speed around Paris in a Ferrari 275 GTB. As the car drives around the streets of Paris, the route is mirrored on a Google map of the city.

That video isn't of a ferrari, its from a film called C'etait un Rendezvous,

The producer went out early in the morning as the roads were mainly empty and strapped a camera to the front grill of his Mercedes-Benz 450SEL,

Then edited the sound of his Ferrari 275 GTB over the top to give the impression that it was indeed the car used.

The sense of speed you get is from the camera being close the ground, yet the car never reached a speed of more than 135MPH

If you can find a small enough digital camera and can secure it to the bumper so as not to fall off, even at 50mph it would look fast. give it a try (i will not be held responsible for you driving over your own camera if you fail to secure it, or any other damage incurred by said suggestion

Yes!! That was a great bit of Film, C'etait un Rendezvous, original film was 9 minutes long, that how long it took, Fifth Gears Vikki Butler-Henderson tried it out with a Citroen C3, It took her nearly 1 hour and a half! That's Traffic for you Mr. Livingston...

As for the speed rush... imagine a car with 32mm ground clearance.... driving at about 50mph.... that seems fast.
