Texperts

Texperts is the new name for 82ask - the service where you can ask questions via SMS. I'd never used 82ask before but I'd heard of services like it.

Texperts, which relaunched earlier this week, has a team of experts who will answer questions 24 hours a day for a quid. I'm not sure if the people are true experts or if they just do a search on Google for you. Personally I think £1 a question is a little steep (especially if there are 50 questions in the pub quiz!). I think I would use the service it is was 50p a question.

If you want to test out the service (you will need to be in the UK), you can register and get five questions free.

Related: SMS Text News covered the launch in which they spent a night projecting their logo onto famous London landmarks.

Comments

I remember years ago, watching the Christmas lectures held at some famous Uni, people from the UK may remember them, always showing a science lecture, full of kids of all ages, and some geek as the Prof.

Anyway, this guy said if you taped a piece of gold to a tv and left the tv in a fridge for a year, it would turn to lead!!! (OK, you can stop laughing now)

Apparently the atoms get bombarded by the TV and change, he said it was not reversible. I have never found out if this is true, and it bugs me as people usually take the piss if I tell 'em. (which have stopped doing).

Just thought I would share that piece of worthless info with you, in case you got a spare quid! (I'm in Canada)
