The Sun has a video of an RAF Hercules being blown up in Iraq — to stop it falling into enemy hands.
The crew and 58 soldiers had a miracle escape when the plane was bombed on landing. Terrorists had strung six bombs on fishing wire alongside a makeshift airfield in Maysan province.
As the Hercules touched down it triggered four, unleashing a lethal hail of 20mm ball-bearings which riddled its fuselage.
Only two troopers were hurt but the £30million aircraft was so badly damaged it was destroyed with mines.
The plane was hit last February but the truth about its loss — officially due to an “electrical fire” — has only just emerged.
