LocateTV

LocateTV is a new site that aims to help you search for your favourite TV shows and see when they are being broadcast. Rather than searching through a TV guide looking to see when your favourite shows may be on, you can use LocateTV to quickly view all channels that the programme is being broadcast on and information about each episode.

At present the site has TV listing for the UK (including regions), Ireland and the US (by ZIP code). It is currently in closed beta but they will be launching soon. If you would like to take a look at the site before it launches, let me know and I'll get an invite sent to you.

Having missed the first 3 episodes of the new Saxondale series (and most of Family Guy) I've been looking for something that will drop me a line when a new series of one of my favourites is coming up... Dunno if this is "the one" but it has to be worth a try, right? :)

@ Graeme: I don't think that it will tell you when a show is going to air, I think you have to search for it.

Why go the internet for TV and not just hit Bittorrent etc?

Yes alerts are on the roadmap. Obviously we are focused on getting the basic search as rich as possible, and the data coverage as extensive as possible, at the moment - but post-launch, customised pages holding your favourite/upcoming shows and text alerts are a high priority.

Moop - we only let you know where legal stuff is. In my opinion even if you're using Bittorrent etc you're very limited to what you can get and it can be very difficult to find. Using a good search saves so much time and effort in the long run. And of course you have the smug glow of making sure people get paid for their work :)
