World's Worst Boxer Quits After 256 Defeats

The world’s worst boxer has finally thrown in the towel after 256 defeats.

Peter Buckley, 39, has lost more fights than any other boxer and says that his next, number 300, will be his last.

‘I’ve had my eye on the 300 mark for a while, and it’s a little milestone I want to achieve, but I don’t want to fight on,' he said. Link

Spend A Night In A London Hotel For £1

Hoxton Hotel, a London boutique hotel, is having a sale where between November 1st and January 31st, 2009, 500 rooms will be offered at £1 and 500 rooms at £29.

They have the sale about twice or three times a year and the last one sold out in 11 minutes. I managed to grab a room for £29 last year but it was next to impossible to get onto the website as soon as the sale started.

If you are considering booking a room, here's a little tip for you. The rooms are not booked through the Hoxton Hotels website but are instead booked through iHotelier. During the last sale it was difficult to access the booking site through the Hoxton Hotel website but was easier to go direct to iHotelier. Here is the direct link. [via]

Confessions of a Naked Sushi Model

Confessions of a first-time naked sushi model.

As the men got drunker, their timidity vanished. Chopsticks flashed above me as they navigated the buffet, taking their dinner from my curves and crevices.

For an hour and a half I laid there, while the men surrounding me drank and ate and stared, and sometimes poked at my bare body. Toward the end, I had to dart my eyes across the ceiling to avoid falling asleep. I was that comfortable, or that wishful for escape.

Is it a camera or a phone? It's both and unless you live in Japan you're unlikely to see it. The Casio Exilim W63CA looks very similar to the camera line of the same name and sports an 8.1-megapixel sensor, image stabilization, 9-point autofocus, a YouTube video mode, and a wide-angle lens. It also come with a relatively big 3.1-inch 480x800 OLED screen. [via]

Google Earth Released For iPhone and iPod Touch

Google has released a version of Google Earth for the iPhone and iPod Touch. The application takes advantage of the accelerometer and all of the regular iPhone features such as 'pinching' and 'twisting'. The application can also add links to Wikipedia entries and photos from Panoramio.

As I'm using an iPod Touch I can only test the application over a Wi-Fi connection but it is quick. I'm not sure how well it would work over a 3G connection.

You can read more about the application at the official Google Earth blog and download it from the iTunes Apps Store for free here (opens iTunes).

Hockey Game Delayed By Dildos

According to The Local, supporters of the Stockholm-based AIK ice hockey team disrupted the game against Leksand on Tuesday by throwing dildos onto the ice and displaying profane banners and a giant inflatable penis.

The taunts were directed at Jan Huokko, a defender with Leksand and a former player with AIK who was involved in a sex scandal. A video of him and his girlfriend circulated on the internet after his mobile phone was stolen.

According the The Local, Huokko is known for putting the biscuit in the basket (is this a Swedish phrase?). Link

Proof That God Exists?

There's a story that goes with this photo. Not sure if it's true.

Gunnison County's Jason Crawford was angry at God for taking the life of his brother John, so he decided to take it up personally with the "Big Guy in the Sky."

Crawford was seen with both middle fingers raised high toward the angry clouds for "a good twenty minutes to half an hour," as an onlooker described. Apparently, he was standing in the middle of an open field during a thunder storm during his open act of defiance.

In a later statement by Crawford, he explained more in detail the events that took place that evening:

"It melted my gold chain and crucifix. I was a little drunk and pretty pissed off at God when I decided to give him my ... special message."

The good news is that Jason's faith has been renewed and he now regularly attends church.

"My brand new testimony will be sure to convince a lot of young hearts that Jesus is real and watching their every move." He laughed and said "you don't want to mess with Jesus."

"I'm convinced God had his reasons for taking my brother and won't be testing my faith again any time soon."

Electromagnetic Keyboard Eavesdropping Research Revealed

Swiss researchers have developed 4 different attacks that are capable of reproducing what someone has typed on a keyboard without using any additional hardware or software.

Every keyboard tested was vulnerable to at least one of the four attacks the researchers used. One attack was shown to work over a distance of 20 metres.

In their work the researchers used a radio antenna to "fully or partially recover keystrokes" by spotting the electromagnetic radiation emitted when keys were pressed.

In a web posting they added: "no doubt that our attacks can be significantly improved, since we used relatively unexpensive equipments [sic]."

My Visit To California

San Francisco is one of my favourite cities (a close second behind London). I had a great time whilst there and got to visit most parts of the city. I could have easily spent week exploring the city as there's so much to do.

I had originally planned on visiting a lot of museums but ending up spending more time exploring the different parts of the city.

Here's a list of some of the things that I got up to.

The Watch That Can't Be Counterfeited

Apparently this watch cannot be counterfeited.

Using security features borrowed from the printers of Swiss currency and passports, the Quai de L'Ile has secret markings using high security polymer papers and inks, and special hidden images that can been seen only by using a UV lamp. In the picture you can see a tiny UV sensitive sun image between the 1 and 2 on the dial.

Due to be launched in New York on Wednesday, the privilege of having a watch that cannot be bought for £30 in a cattle market will cost you between $29,000 and $60,000. 800 will be made each year and will can be customised 400 different ways. Link [via]
