A mother waited 41 days for her son to come out of a coma — then he woke up and told her to “f*** off”. Joan Hopkins, 39, cried with relief, despite 22-year-old Joey’s bad language.

She said: “I told the nurse I’d know when he was getting better because he’d swear at me.

“It was such a relief — it was his way of telling me he was going to be all right. He hasn’t stopped talking since.”
