Amazing footage from the recent earthquake/tsunami in Asia. The video clip shows a beach bar filling up with water. Amazingly the guy with the camera keeps filming as the place fills with a few feet of water. More clips here, here and here. [via]
Update: Cheese and Crackers has links to more footage.
Update 2: More footage that was broadcast on TV yesterday.
What I dont understand is that people with video cameras can catch "UFO's", the Virgin Mary and Countless other things wierd things like Big Foot, but not one news agency was up in the air with a helicopter capturing this footage just by chance?

I was on the beach, on a small island called Koh Hong when the Tsunami hit. I was hospitalised for a month and required skin grafts. My girlfriend was with me, and she is still in hospital, with an amputated right leg.
The reason for telling you this?
1. Beleive me, whatever country you are from, you would not have wanted to anywhere near that wave.
2. Curiously enough, I would like to see a video of the sort of wave that hit me and my girlfriend, which is why I am trawling the net for one - if anyone knows of a decent video - please can you post the link?
3. I just wish people could act a little more civilly towards one another, in particular I resent the profoundly puerile bickering involving a "Tsunami" theme.
Thanks for listening/reading
Simon

You know, I came on this site to see if people were uniting and coming together and I see some are trying to get this to occur, but STOP BITCHING ABOUT THE VIDEO, 400,000 ppl are dead... i wish there were 0 videos, if i died in that i wouldnt want people watching me die like it was nothing its horrible, and speaking for the waves, the waves are not technically waves, nevertheless the swell or area of risen water moves at speeds of 500 mph possibly, this one was 350-400 i believe, and they can be (look it up its true) 100 miles long from FRONT to BACK, not side to side, side to side i dont even want to know how much it covered.... look guys I'm not trying to make anyone feel bad, but if your not going to say something nice on here, negative words arent needed here....thats for sure, im sorry to hear about you and your girlfriend man, thats awful and i cant do anything about it but at least i care, and I hope I'm wrong about the way this world is turning, but i never thought id see some of the comments i saw on this site after devestation like this, however.... what goes around comes around and i expect the US is going to get railed by something soon...and yes i live right on the east coast and maybe if a tsunami killed me itd be worth it bc it would take out pieces of shit as well, ppl who dont care and ppl who deserve to be in that tsunami themselves. My suggestion is for you all to pray to God and Jesus that this isnt how you go, i can imagine most people didnt even die from drowning, think of all the debris, all the tools from sheds, all the knives from kitchens, all the cars, all the walls, doors, all moving hundreds of miles per hour, its utter horror i am quite sure and noone should be put through it. Oddly enough, I feel like the same people who lack compassion are going to have a problem with my God/Jesus comment...hm..thats weird but you'll find out soon when the big one comes, there wont be anyone left to bitch about how "weak" it was. Unite, we arent different nations, we're all people, we grow up in differnet social environments so we are differnet from eachother but we all come from the same creator (your just downright ignorant if you don't believe in some type of creator) and this world is not supposed to be the way it is, look at the US, again im American but i know right and wrong, "One nation under God"....REALLY? then why is alcohol legal and pot illegal? A SIN is made legal and celebrated on different holidays while the seed of wisdom is treated like heroin. My work here is done, just GET ALONG we're all the same, noones better noones worse and who cares if australia gives more or the US, the only person you can control is yourself, empty your wallet to those poor people, itll be you that feels good about yourself bc you helped another person...not your country. God bless you all.

I've read thru the whole comments. Wow.
Morons, smart people, ignorants, care-givers, etc.
Just a few things (mentioned already or not):
1- Tsunami is not a wave. It's a shockwave.
2- American is 3 continents. United States of America is one of three countries in North America.
3- Citizens gave more than governments in this disaster (billions more)
4- Stop thinking you're the best.
5- Not believing in a creator does not make me ignorant.
6- I'm Canadian.
7- Some want to see better footage to better grasp the feeling and horror of it all. If CNN hadn't played over and over again the airplanes colliding into the WTC towers, would as many people have been as generous as they were?
Now for some seriousness: Simon, my thoughts to you and your girlfriend. It brings me a great feeling to read the words of a survivor.
