Is this the only blog written by someone within New Orleans? The blog is written by someone who works for the only ISP in New Orleans that is still operating. The ISP is running a live webcam although I can't view it at the moment. However, they do have a ton of pictures. [via]
http://neworleans.metblogs.com/ is another site. Some people are close to or just outside New Orleans.

Yeah... this is one of the only... if not only blogs running in New Orleans. I am not sure how much news you get internationally about the storm, but it is a war zone there. The only reason these guys have power and internet access is due to their being there to back up a huge datacenter run by interNIC.
The blog is amazing if you have read it. They have huge generator keeping the servers power while they try and save this data from distruction.
They have to run security patrols because of violence, looting, and murders. In one of his posts he practically begged our President to get the military into the citu before it is "lost".
Pretty much all other forms of communication are cut. They are running of fiber and have a few OC3's.
Their real front lines descriptions of what is going on is frightening.
If you have any other questions about it let me know, I am following it pretty closely here in Florida.
