Poll: 9 Out Of 10 Americans Believe In Heaven

A poll has revealed that 9 out of 10 Americans believe there is a heaven with 85% of those thinking that they will actually go there. 78% think that you only exist there spiritually so there's not going to be a shortage of space. And a quarter of believers think that access to heaven is limited to Christians only.

Do you believe in heaven? Do you believe that non-christians will be barred from entering heaven? If you believe that you will go to heaven, will you go there physically or spiritually? I'm an atheist so I don't believe in any of it. When I die that's it.

Probably the same feeling of when you're asleep...except its all over. No dreams. ^^;; I may be rather pessamistic about the "after-life" but I find people who truly are hardcore in believing in heaven are delusional. My opinion, religion and their theories are all created to comfort people from the thoughts of dying and never being able to return to their loved ones. I mean, who described heaven? Someone who was still alive I suppose...

No offense to anyone, I'm only stating my own opinions ^^;;;. Don't shoot me XD

...and if you couldn't tell. I'm an athiest.

i believe in heaven but obviously not sure how it all works when i die in the case of it being a physical or spirit thing.
as far as people being barred? if people got to choose who's in or out then definitely people would be barred. God's way bigger than that and does not think like us (thank the Lord) so who know's but Him. i think's He's way more gracious than us.

I don't know what is more amusing, that 9/10 people believe there is a heaven or 85% thinking they will go there.

I beleive in heaven , yes. Its here on earth in Philadelphia, PA, when you eat one of Pat's Cheesesteaks.

I believe in Heaven, and i also believe in Hell, and i know exactly how it works. if you trust Jesus with your life, your headed to heaven. if you reject Jesus, i will let you know stop drop and roll does not work in Hell. i find it funny how most of the Christians in the country say, "our father," on Sunday and then spend the rest of the week acting like orphans.

Personally, I believe in reincarnation and I have many points that help prove my theory. I will share some with you to give you something to think about. I am the kind of person who seeks knowledge and rejects none. All knowledge is good knowledge because from it you can create your own theories and prove them right or wrong.

1) Scientists have discovered that our memories are not kept in our brain, they don't have any idea where they are kept and have reason to believe they come from external sources.

2) Astral projection, or out of body experiences, occur quite frequently amongst society. More than you think. Where you are some type of ethreal projection floating outside your body, free to go wherever you wish.

3) Our mind is made up of electrical signals, energy. Energy can travel freely in many forms.

4)Taking this knowledge, I have created a theory that proves reincarnation possible. Our bodies are nothing but vessels. Shells, if you will. When we die, it isn't the end. (If you can truly imagine a sleep state where you do not dream, infinite darkness, let me know.) The energy pulses in our brain stop, and that energy has to go somewhere. The energy can then go into the next shell, and you are theoretically reborn.

My post is not meant to discredit what you all believe in, it is merely here for the purpose of gaining knowledge. Take it as you would have it, I have heard somewhere.

Ack, didn't mean to create two posts. I tried posting earlier, hence the name Carius, and it froze. My mistake.

The stats are very telling in many ways. That 90% believe in Heaven, but only 85% think they are actually going. So at least 5% think they will go where—Hell?

I think many that believe in Heaven are truly delusional. Not of an existence in Heaven, but that they’re actually going there. The Christian view, or let’s say Christ’s view of Heaven places some stipulations on entry there and to state the obvious, very few follow or actually even desire to follow Christ’s teachings.

Hopefully some of you will listen to a few sermons from my url.

Peace
