To celebrate National Cheese on Toast Day, chef Tom Bridge is auctioning of what is probably the most expensive slice of cheese on toast. The Welsh Rarebit is made with bog standard Warburton's Toastie bread and Lancashire cheese but is topped with L’Aquila White Umbrian truffles at £1,400 per kilo, and Matsutake Chinese mushrooms, which are £250 a pound. I am but your humble servant, and will never, ever, ever be able to afford the meal described above. My little fridge does hold a jar of cheez-whiz though. And it's got those little red pimentoey things in it, and it's pretty good melted over some Wonder bread if ya wanna come over.
But would someone please explain what something costing more than my car tastes like.
Chicken perhaps?
