2006 has been a busy year for weird news stories and there are probably many that you have forgotten. Over the next four days I will be publishing some of the weirdest stories of 2006 that were posted on Peculiarosities.com. (Here's part 1)

January
A woman who was thought to be missing was found dead underneath a pile of debris in her home. Every room was crammed full of clothes, dishes and boxes from floor to ceiling with some areas 6ft deep. #
An Australian man had to be rescued by the fire brigade after getting stuck in a washing machine whilst playing a game of hide 'n' seek. It took an hour to free the man. #
An Italian man kept the mummified mother in a bedroom wardrobe for three years until it was found this week. When the woman dies back in 2002, her son stashed the body away in a wardrobe and sealed it with silicone gel. #
A Japanese man has been arrested after fatally stabbing his mother and seriously wounding his father. Apparently he did it because they wouldn't drink his soup. #
A Swedish woman has discovered a spider that had been living in her ear for 27 days! The small black spider probably crept into the woman's ear whilst she slept and set up home. #
A judge has sentenced a man to attend services for six weeks at a black church for threatening to punch a black cab driver and using racial slurs. #
A 35-year-old tractor operator underwent surgery to be relieved of what had initially been diagnosed as a tumor, but turned out to be the embryo of his unborn twin brother. Doctors said the embryo belonged to the patient's unborn brother who had spent 35 years in the body of the patient. #
A group of rabbit hunters stumbled upon a cow in distress and one of her newborn calves buried up to the tip of its nose in the ground. The newborn had evidently been born breech and slipped backward into the hole immediately after birth. #
A drunk man who was stopped after driving the wrong way on a motorway decided to throw his prosthetic legs at the police officer that stopped him. One missed him but the other hit the trooper in the chest. #
A dog has apparently killed a driver after it fell from a freeway overpass and crashed through a car windscreen. It is believed that the 60-70lb labrador fell form the overpass and was not thrown. #
A motorist had his throat slashed by a disabled driver after he parked in the wrong bay. David Williams, 49, launched the attack after he could not find a space in a Tesco car park. #
A 16-year-old boy has been arrested after he beat up his grandmother for not giving him $100 to buy beer. #
February
An alleged burglar was rescued after he got stuck overnight in the oven vent of the convenience store he was trying to rob. He broke in at 2am but wasn't found by employees until 8am. #
In 1970, a bizarre gardening accident embedded a small nail deep inside Guy "Bud" Hart's body. More than 35 years later, the nail made an unexpected return, when he coughed it up. #
A man whose leg was amputated after a consultant wrongly diagnosed a bone disease. A bone-scan showed that the man did not have the disease but his leg was still amputated. #
An Indian judge has sentenced a robber to life imprisonment for hurling a slipper at him. Apparently this is not an uncommon occurence. #
Les Lailey celebrated his golden wedding by eating tinned chicken that was fifty years old. He tucked into the meat — given to him as a wedding present in 1956 — without even cooking it. Apparently it smelt good and tasted alright. #
A woman saved a chicken by giving it the kiss of life. Marian Morris, resuscitated her brother's pet chicken Boo Boo after it was found floating face down in the family's pond. The chicken made a full recovery. #
A woman says she owns a 104-year-old bar of chocolate. Jane Marshall was given the bar of Cadbury's by her grandad when she was nine. The chocolate bar was made to celebrate Edward VII's 1902 coronation. #
A Russian teacher faces two years in jail after ordering her students to lick clean the floor of a classroom. The female teacher forced all her male pupils to lick up all the marks and stains on the floor. #
A seven-year-old boy survived after being tumble-dried by his brother during a game of hide 'n' seek. The boy suffered slight burns. #
A 7-year-old girl wed a stray dog as part of a ritual to ward off the "evil eye" on her and her family in eastern India.#
An Argentinian woman has been arrested for stabbing her husband because he did not have sex with her. The 52-year-old, from Buenos Aires, stabbed her husband in the back but he was not seriously injured. #
A man was accused of fatally beating his roommate with a sledgehammer and a claw hammer because there was no toilet paper in their home. The man was beaten so badly he had to be identified through his fingerprints. #
A Bavarian village was flooded by liquid pig manure after a tank containing the fertilizer burst. Sewage rose to 20 inches in the courtyards and streets of Elsa after gushing from the tank, which held some 240,000 litres of pig manure. #
A Sudanese man has been forced to take a goat as his "wife", after he was caught having sex with the animal. #
March
Corrie Drew opened her curtains in her bra and knickers to find a man fixing a CCTV camera two feet from her bedroom window. It was installed to monitor yobs and because of its design, you never know if it's looking at you.. #
A couple and their three-year-old son were attacked by a 20-inch rat as they slept in a hotel room. The rodent first sank its teeth into little Cameron Harris’s neck. Then it bit shocked dad Steve — before going for his wife Hayley. #
A devoted husband could not bear to be parted from his dead wife — so he kept her in the freezer. The man kept her in the chest freezer for 12 daysuntil the alarm was raised by worried family. #
A man who urinated on his toddler daughter plead guilty to one count of child cruelty whilst in court. The man urinated on his 15-month-old daughter while she was in her crib at their home. #
A teenager died after he was slashed by a sword that dislodged from the wall of his bedroom while he was playing ball with his siblings. #
A teen who pinched and twisted another boy's nipple while standing in line at a deli was sentenced to four days in juvenile detention. #
A German burglar has escaped a prison sentence - because he suffers from a permanent erection. #
A German man playing with his brother's Jack Russell was hospitalised after the dog sunk its teeth into his penis. #
A man who plunged 30ft down a mill chimney survived — by landing in 6in-deep pigeon poo. He would have died but for a soft landing in a thick covering of pigeon droppings that built up over the years. #
A man's pantyhose led to his arrest, authorities said. An unshaven man wearing a black evening gown, fishnet stockings, calf-high boots and a black wig robbed a USA Gas station. #
Firemen had to rescue a 3-year-old boy after he got stuck in a toy vending machine. Initial attempts to rescue the boy failed when the boy refused to come out the machine. #
A 500-pound moose crashed through the windshield of a car and ended up sitting in the passenger seat with its head sticking through the glass. The moose was later euthanized because of severe injuries #
A frustrated German housewife called police because her husband would not stop watching porn movies. #
An high school teacher is accused of buying X-rated videos for students. The Spanish teacher is accused of buying pornography for two male students at the school. #
