Much like Google not wanting you to use the word Google like a verb, Adobe are advising people how to use the word Photoshop.
Trademarks are not verbs.
CORRECT: The image was enhanced using Adobe® Photoshop® software.
INCORRECT: The image was photoshopped.
Trademarks are not nouns.
CORRECT: The image pokes fun at the Senator.
INCORRECT: The photoshop pokes fun at the Senator.

I seem to recall Xerox complaining about the same thing years ago, with little to show for it. People still say they'll "xerox" something on the copier.

In the US, it's Kleenex for a tissue.
In the UK, it's Hoover for vacuuming.
Trademarks are verbs and trademarks are nouns.
