Improv Everywhere which "causes scenes of chaos and joy in public places" recently recruited 111 men to go shopping shirtless in a NYC Abercrombie & Fitch. Why? Well, anyone who has shopped at A&F will know that the walls and all their marketing material is adorned with men showing their washboard stomachs rather than wearing the clothes that the shop is trying to sell.
People involved in the stunt were kitted out with hidden cameras to record the reactions of other shoppers, staff and security. It appeared that security didn't appreciate shirtless men buying A&F clothes and prevented them from completing their transactions. Check out the photos and videos here.
Hopefully this post will make up for the 'Hottest 35 Men In The World' post that disappointed some of my female readers.
Harrods hired a live Egyptian cobra snake to guard a pair of £60,000 jewel-encrusted designer sandals.
The highly aggressive and deadly snake, called Cedric, was hired to guard a pair of Rene Caovilla sandals encrusted with rubies, sapphires and diamonds.
Security experts were divided on how effective the cobra would be as a deterrent to thieves - but it made an ideal photo opportunity for the flagship store in London's Knightsbridge. Link
About 250 shaggy men from around the world competed Saturday in 17 different classes of facial hair at the competition in Brighton. It was the first time that the bi-annual event had been held in Britain and coincided with the 60th anniversary of The Handlebar Club, an international club for people with beards and moustaches.
The event has long been dominated by German beard clubs, but the Americans made a strong showing at this year's competition, taking victories in four categories. Link
One hundred German women braved broken heels and sprained ankles in Saturday's second annual "Stiletto Run" 100-meter race in Berlin.
The distance was 100 meters. The field was 100 women. The prize was €10,000. The setting was Berlin. And the shoes were stilettos.
With a time of 14.7 seconds, Berliner Denise Hanitzsch beat out 99 fellow heel-wearers Saturday to take the prize in the second annual "Stiletto Run," held in West Berlin near the upscale Kurfürstendamm shopping district. Link
"For years, schoolgirls have had to be vigilant about jerks with cameras trying to get a panchira (panty-glimpse) up their skirts. But they have an even creepier problem now: Clever degenerates are modifying their videocam's night-vision mode to see right through fabric, revealing all. Enter textile company Cramer Japan, which has developed a nylon and polyurethane weave that blocks infrared rays. The result? ShotGuard Inner Shorts, panties that are impervious to pervs. Adding to the deterrent is that the $17 underwear is available only in a fetish-stifling beige." [via]

Saks Fifth Avenue says its new shoe department is so big that it's getting its own ZIP code.
The Manhattan store is revamping its shoe department, and when it moves from the fourth floor to an 8,500-square-foot space on the eighth floor in August, customers will be able to send mail to 10022-SHOE.
The retailer worked with the U.S. Postal Service on the new ZIP code — but only the last four characters, which aren't necessary when mailing something, are specialized. The rest of the neighborhood shares 10022. Link

Sans t-shirts, Will Sharp weighed 210lbs. With t-shirts he weighed 285lbs. Judging by the pictures of him sweating he probably lost a few pounds whilst wearing them. [via]
